Answer
·  Do we ship our dogs?

The simple answer is No.

The more complex answer is, we would rather take the time to see if you and your future puppy bond together. We want to see if this is the right fit for both you and our dog/puppy. This simply can not be done over the phone. We must ask future adopters to come to the shelter or to the dogs foster home and spend some time with the dog.  Many times, adopters will come for one dog and leave with another. You can not tell the temperment of a dog by a picture and you can not see how the dog will react to you over the phone.  Another reason we do not ship our dogs is because of the large amount of stress this can cause for the dog.

·  How soon can we adopt the dog we want?

With the exception of new puppies that we have to  hold for a week to 10 days to be sure they're healthy enough to be adopted out, all of our dogs can be adopted on the same day you contact us. The application process takes about 20 minutes, depending on the dog.  We like for Adopters to spend at least 30 to 45 minutes with the dog or puppy to make absolutely sure that they've selected the right one. If the staff is busy because of all the lil guys running around, it may take just alittle longer but should still be rather short.

·  What are the fees? Are there hidden fees?

The only fee we charge is given to you up front. The adoption fee is usually the only thing you would ever have to pay to adopt a dog from us. There are no hidden fees or fees tacked on after you fall in love with the dog.  If there is ever any other fees for a special case we will always be up front and they will hopefully always be posted on our site.

If you are still concerned about this just email us about the dog you are interested in and we will be happy to give you any information you would like on the dog in question.

·  What is a spay/neuter contract and why would I have to sign one?

  1. If a dog has not been in our care long enough to have been scheduled for a spay or nueter appointment.
  2. The puppy is still to young to be spayed or neutered.

You will have to sign a spay or neuter contract.  What this mean is that when the puppy is old enough or a.s.a.p for older dogs you will have the dog or puppy spaded or neutered at your expense and then send us proof that it has been done.  We do this to prevent as many unwanted and stray  dogs going back into shelters as we can.  This is the same for all of our dogs. Pure breeds or not, they all must be fixed.  We can have this done at our vet for you at our cost.  This will delay you taking your adopted dog home till we can schedule the next available appointment with one of our vets and we will keep your pet until it's recovered enough to go home with you.

·  Do you pay any vet bills?

If the dog is sick within the first ten days, PLEASE bring the dog back to us so we can have him looked at by OUR vet. We will NOT pay for any vet bills if you take them to your vet and then send us a bill. We can not work like that since we can not work with every vet in every state. If your puppy or dog is sick within the first ten days you have him PLEASE call us IMMEDITATLY and we will do whatever we can to get him better.  We have thousands of dollars in vet bills to show we love our dogs. If you have a problem with your dog PLEASE CALL.. If it is something that requires a vet, we will take the pet to our vet, who is already familiar with the animal, to be treated.  We will then nurse the animal back to health and return your pet to you healthy and happy.  Thats all there is to it.

·  Do you give refunds?

If the dog or puppy you adopted suddenly becomes seriously ill within ten days of adoption and you want to return him/her, we will gladly return your money or give you credit towards another healthy dog. If you are returning the dog because it just isn't what you thought you wanted or it went potty on your floor once and you just can't have that, you will not receive a refund of any kind but we will take the dog back.  We will not give back adoption fees just because you made a hasty decision. It's bad enough that the dog will be returned and went thru the stress of changing homes.  Please never make adopting a dog a hasty decision. This is a life long comitment to be taken seriously and cautiously.

·  Can I return the dog/puppy I just adopted?

Of course you can return the dog or puppy you just adopted.  You will not get your adoption fee back.  We have had too many people come in and adopt a puppy just to come back 3 hours later saying that the puppy just won't listen to them and we must give them there money back.  We no have a firm NO MONEY back policy. Unless your dog is deathly ill or sick and we can not do anything to help your dog or puppy. Returns are just that. Returns.

·  I just got the puppy home and its sick. What do I do?

First thing, CALL US.  Day or Night pick up the phone and call Us.  If it's something we can help with we will not yell that it's 4am in the morning. It could be something we can help with over the phone. If it's something that requires a vet visit we will set one up with OUR vet as soon as we can and as fast as we can. If its a emergency and its still within ten days of you getting your dog or puppy home we will try to make arrangements with your vet or one in your area to work with us on the costs so you can get him in A.S.A.P.  Remember if you want us to help with any vet costs you have to talk to us BEFORE going to the vet. We have to make sure we have the funds to help. Emergencies are exceptions. We can not tell you to stand around with a extremly sick puppy trying to get in contact with  us when we're out on a call. We will try our best to help out in these situations but we can not guarantee funds in these situations. If you decide to do a $2,000 dollar surgey without talking to us the chances are we will not be paying that bill. Bottom line is if you don't contact us please don't ask for our help for the bills. If you contact us we will be more than willing to help all we can.
