Shelter Staff
Name: William Brent Mark
Position: Vice-President
Description: Hi Everyone!
I am the meanie of the group. I have to tell my Mother she can't have every single dog in every single shelter that she wants! Mom is a very loving and generous person. She has more love to give these pups than anyone and she treats them better than they have probably ever been treated before.
I am happy that this rescue's core group is family. We used to have BBQ's, now we have adoption events, Board Meetings, and price comparing shopping. That's okay because we are a family and this is a family with a mission! We are happy to work and play together. Sometimes it's stressful, but what isn't these days? I have to be the voice of reason in the group. If I turned Mom and Peg loose, hard telling what they'd get into.
I am the webmaster of this site that I created myself. I like to write the code and rewrite the code till I'm happy with the site. So, don't be suprised if the site continues to grow and expand. If you have any ideas, thoughts or suggestions that you would like to see on the site, please let me know. This site isn't for us, it's for you!
Name: Peg
Position: Secretary
Description: I have the greatest set on almost in-laws that anyone could ask for. My almost mother-in-law is the kindest, loving, caring person in the world. Her dedication to her "babies" is unsurpassed. I've called her many times when she's sat up most of the night with a sick pup, nursing it back to health. She does a great job taking care of all of her babies. When she does loose one occasionally, she is truly heartbroken and she honestly does cry over them. It's a sad day for all of us when one of the babies is sick.
My almost father-in-law scared me half to death when I first met him. I was terrified of him. I can laugh about that now, I sure wouldn't have back then! He is not a big talker at first, but once you get to know him, he is the funniest man walking. He makes me laugh so hard sometimes I cry! He doesn't want anyone to know that he has a very generous heart and is a very loving man. He is a doting husband that will generously let Vick have the means and the emotional support she needs to do what she does.
My darling almost husband Brent is quite the character. Of all the dogs we've had, I think only one has not liked him. Brent is a dog magnet. He loves all of them. Brent is the webmaster for this site that he designed himself and is very patient with his Mother and me when we keep forgetting how to do stuff on the site. The man is a wealth of computer knowledge and patience.
My daughter Meg adores the dogs and puppies. She can't be out at the farm as much as she would like to because of her homework and obligations to Four County, but she is out there every chance she gets!
My other daughter Kate is not involved in the rescue. Not that she doesn't love every furry critter on the planet, she's just doing her own thing, going to school and working.
About Me:
Basically not much to tell. I love the dogs and we foster 2 dogs at a time in our home. They become part of our family and while we are happy to adopt them out to a forever home. Meg and I cry when they go. We cry like a couple of two-year-olds, but that's how we are.
I am the secretary of the group and the advertising person and the person you'll hear on the other end of the phone checking up on the babies and seeing how they're doing. I call and check references, I set up adoption events and do all the paperwork kind of stuff for the group. I keep the files and so pretty much whatever Vick needs done.
We have two furry babies of our own, Macy and Chiquita. Macy, AKA Goober, is a 5 year old chihuahua. She is a tri-colored, 7 pounder. While Chiquita, AKA Tilly and Grandmaw, is a rescued, breeder dog, who is about 10 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. She is also a Chihauhua but she's the bigger breed of chihuhaua. She is all black, with a little grey hair sprinkled in.
Name: Vicki Cornell
Position: President
Description: HI Everyone!
I am the Founder/President of the rescue. I have been involved with rescue for four years now and still loving it. Oh, yes, there are days when I think "why do I do this?" and then a puppy or dog will come to me and give me kisses and then I remember why I do this! There are happy days and sad days. Yes, I still cry when a puppy gets ill and does not make it. I work very close with my vets to make sure one and all get the care they need while with us. No, we are by far not perfect and once in a while a puppy gets adopted and then gets sick for the new family. We all feel really bad and wish it would never have happened, but we can not predict the future or any illnesses that could arise.

I started out by fostering for another rescue and when the price of gas got so high it was costing me a lot to travel to all the vet appointments and adoption events, my husband suggested I start my own rescue group here in our area. I was a little leary about it at first. I wondered where we would get the dogs and puppies to help in our small community, but to my surprise there are more than enough to keep our rescue full at all times. So here we are and loving every dog and puppy that comes to us. Yes once in awhile I get one that just does not click with me but we manage to get along while they are in foster care.

A little about me: I am married to a wonderful husband, who without him I could not do this. He is my soul mate. I have one son Brent who is also involved in the rescue. It's kind of a family thing, you know the old saying 'the family that plays together stays together' well this is our togetherness. He has a fiance who is also involved Peg, who has two children Meg and Kate. Meg is my right hand most weekends. My hobbies if I ever find time is woodworking. I have yard art for just about every holiday. I love ceramics but lately never seem to have time for it. I am a pack rat. I don't like to throw anything away, I might use it two years down the road. OH YEAH, we have five fur babies of our own! They are our babies Makinzie aka BUD, chow/collie mix. She is 15 now but will be turning 16 in March. She has been with me since she was about a year old. Then came Sassy aka Turbo who is a pug/terrier mix. She turned 8 in September and our newest addition is Abby aka AbbaGabber, she is a chow/golden retriever, she is around two years old. We also have a gray and white cat, Jasmine aka Fat Cat, she is a gray and white long haired cat. I can not forget my bunny, his name is fuzzy bunny, he is white with gray highlights.

Description: Hi everybody!
I have been helping my grandma with animal rescue for about four years. The whole animal rescue thing started when I was on summer vacation before eighth grade. Every summer my grandma, sister, and I would go get wild kittens out of the barn then tame them and give them to good homes. My sister and I got to thinking that it would be cool to bottle feed puppies instead of just kittens. We bounced this idea off of grandma. Our questions got the wheels turning in grandma's head. Then she got Animal Planet and we were ALL in trouble. She started surfing the web trying to find a rescue group close to us. Grandma finally found one based in Wauseon, Ohio. My sister and I were excited when grandma told us that we were going to foster a dog or two for this group. It all went uphill from there and now we have our own rescue group.

About me
I love to read and bug my grandmother during the week. I always have something to tell her or something I want to know about a puppy. Like what kind we're getting in and when. And then of course, we have to plan our weekend! This way, when I get to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Friday night I don't need to tell her as much because she already knows and then we can go about our weekend. My grandparents are awesome. Grandpa is so funny, he cracks me up. He is always interested in how I am doing in school and what I am interested in. He is happy that I come out to help Grandma because it's such hard work for her to take care of all the dogs and puppies by herself.
I go to Four County and am studying to be a Nurse. I am active in Four County. I am a Leadership Team member, am in a book group called Page Benders, and I am a tour guide for my program (I show eighth graders around my classroom and tell them all the fun stuff about my class). My favorite color is ocean blue and my favorite food is a toss up between Chinese food and meatloaf, also I have way too many favorite authors to list.
